Mike,
My head is still reeling from the free hour that you that you offered within this video. (Great video too, by the way.) By any measure, by far the best hour I’ve ever spent on my marketing. Can’t even think of a close second. Anyone NOT taking you up on your maniacal offer is even crazier than you. (If such a thing is even possible!)
Thanks again and I'm now off to use what I've learned.

Michael,

This is great advice. As a bookseller, over time I realized I was not merely selling books, but was selling events, particularly for the arts. I think as a result, book sales were hurt as I chose to promote the other aspects of the business I enjoyed more.

As I've begun to do some marketing for the College of Poetry (a niche), we've become a destination for poets (targeted audience), which we can sell our classes too. At this point, it is still slow going, but we believe with continued marketing to the target, we will continue to build an area that we have a passion for. To some extent, we've done that with our jazz concerts.

In light of this, we have found our books selling themselves - although more focus on our bread and butter (books) might benefit our total bottom line.

Wow, what a great video series. I actually consider myself fairly knowedgeable in search engine optimization, as I have consistently kept my website on the first page. And yet, I have learned some very valuable new tips. Thanks, Mike!!

Mike, you are absolutely right. This is the number one way to build your brand, keep your customers, increase sales, increase market share, and of all things, stay in business.

Your points apply across industries, to both tangible and non-tangible products. Even in the service industry, where my clients cannot pick up, hold, and touch what they have bought from me, the best way for me to delight my clients is to provide value and longevity to a point beyond what they reasonably expect.

Great post!

Hi there,

I looked over your blog and it looks really good. Do you ever do link exchanges on your blog roll? If you do, I'd like to exchange links with you.

Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks..

Mike,

I haven't had a chance to "dig in" to the blog yet but, I LOVE what I've seen so far. This is something that might actually help my business. You've already given me ideas.

I will be in touch!
